Referring to Scheme 4, C5,7-Dichloro-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine (206 mg, 1.1 mmol) and 5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-amine (213 mg, 2.19 mmol) was mixed in EtOH (5 ml). The mixture was heated at 80° C. for 10 minutes. The mixture was then cooled to RT and the solid was collected and washed with EtOAc to give (7-Chloro-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-5-yl)-(5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-amine as a white solid (182 mg, 0.73 mmol, 66%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO) δ 8.17 (s, 1H) 7.63 (s, 1H) 7.12 (s, 1H) 6.02 (s, 1H) 2.28 (s, 3H). [M+H] calc'd for C10H9ClN6, 249; found, 249.
