A mixture of (2S,3R)-3-methyl-1-((S)-1-phenyl-ethyl)-pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid amide (Step 1.9) (4.76 mmol) and 10% Pd on charcoal (0.947 mmol) in MeOH (20 mL) was hydrogenated for 46 h at rt. The reaction mixture was then filtered through a Fluoropore Membrane Filter (0.2 μm FG) and evaporated. The residue was dissolved in CH2Cl2 and evaporated to dryness to afford the title compound as a white solid. ESI-MS: [M+H]+ 129; TLC: Rf=0.10 (1:3 Hex/EtOAc).
