Procedure

Compound 2d (30 mg, 0.11 mmol), 3-bromo-2-methyl-pyridine (0.16 mmol), cesium carbonate (72 mg, 0.22 mmol), PddppfCl2 (10 mg), and triisobutylphosphatrane (15 μL) were combined in toluene (0.5 mL). The mixture was heated at 80° C. for 20 h. The mixture was concentrated under a stream of nitrogen and the residue was partitioned between DCM and water. The DCM layer was concentrated and taken up in methanol and purified by preparative HPLC to afford 4-1: LC-MS 375.4 (MH+), tR=7.88 (Method 6). EC50: 4804 nM.
