Following the procedure as described in Example 25, making variations as required to replace ethyl 3-((3-(5-(benzylcarbamoyl)-4-methylthiazol-2-yl)-2-oxoimidazolidin-1-yl)methyl)benzoate with methyl 3-((3-(5-(benzylcarbamoyl)-4-methylthiazol-2-yl)-2-oxoimidazolidin-1-yl)methyl)benzoate, the title compound was obtained as a colorless solid in 85% yield: mp 143-145° C. (methanol/hexanes); 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.55 (t, J=5.9 Hz, 1H), 7.89-7.87 (m, 2H), 7.58-7.46 (m, 2H), 7.37-7.20 (m, 5H), 4.51 (s, 2H), 4.38 (d, J=5.9 Hz, 2H), 4.04-3.98 (m, 2H), 3.50-3.3.45 (m, 2H), 2.47 (s, 3H); MS (ES+) m/z 451.2 (M+1).
