2-(4-(5-Bromopyrimidin-2-ylamino)phenoxy)ethyl methanesulfonate 11 (1.55 mmol) and methyl isonipecotate (3.10 mmol) are dissolved in DMF (5 mL) and stirred at 90° C. for 12 h. After the reaction is completed, 2M Na2CO3 (20 mL) is added and the resulting mixture is extracted with EtOAc (50 mL). The organic layer is separated and concentrated to give crude methyl 1-(2-(4-(5-bromopyrimidin-2-ylamino)phenoxy)ethyl)piperidine-4-carboxylate 12. MS (m/z) (M+1)+: 435.1, 437.1.
