Procedure
According to the same manner as in Preparative Example 5, ethyl 1-[4-bromo-2-(2-pyridinecarbonyl)phenyl]-5-chloromethyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxylate is hydrolyzed with sodium hydroxide to give 1-[4-bromo-2-(2-pyridinecarbonyl)-phenyl]-5-chloromethyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxylic acid as crystals. Recrystallizations from ethanol gives colorless prisms, melting at 215° C to 217° C. (decomposition).
