Reaction Steps
A mixture of 3.74 g 2-chloroindolo[1,2-d][1,4]benzodiazepin-6(7H)-one, 2.58 g sodium bicarbonate, and 13.67 g P2S5 in 85 ml diglyme was heated at 105°-120° C. under nitrogen for one and a half hours. The cooled reaction mixtre was diluted with water to precipitate a solid. Recrystallization from toluene yielded 1.58 g solid, which decomposed at 265° C.
