Reaction Steps
This product is obtained with a melting point of 184°-185° and a yield of 70% by treatment of 3-(3,6,9-trioxadecyloxy)-2-chloropropionic acid (Ex. 11A) with 25% ammonia (1 mol/3.5 mol) at 115° C. for two hours and removal of the salts by passage through an ion exchange resin column.
