Procedure

To a solution of 12 (1 g, 2.9 mmol) in MeOH (10 mL), Pd/C (10 wt %) was added and the mixture stirred at rt under H2 atmosphere. Upon completion of the reaction (monitored by LCMS), the mixture was filtered through celite and the filtrate evaporated to give a yellow oil which solidified upon standing. Calculated mass=345. Observed mass=345.
