Reaction Steps
Triflic anhydride (516 mg, 0.30 mL, 1.83 mmol) was added dropwise to a solution of the product of Step A (500 mg, 1.41 mmol) and pyridine (167 mg, 0.17 mL, 2.11 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (5.0 mL) at 0° C. The resulting solution was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 1 h. The reaction mixture was quenched by addition of water then partitioned between 5% citric acid and ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with sodium bicarbonate (sat.), dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated under vacuum to yield the crude product as a yellow gum (670 mg). This material was taken on without further purification.
