Procedure

A solution of 1-(2-Dimethylamino-ethyl)-4-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester, D22 (610 mg, 2 mmol) in methanol/water (15 ml/10 ml) was treated with 2N sodium hydroxide (4 ml). After stirring at room temperature for 16 h the methanol was removed in vacuo and the residue treated with 2N HCl (4 ml). The water was removed in vacuo. Dichloromethane was added to the residue and the inorganic solid was removed by filtration. Removal of the solvent form the filtrate in vacuo afforded the title compound as a white solid (350 mg, 63%).
