To a mixture of N-(6-(6-chloro-5-(dimethylamino)pyridin-3-yl)benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)acetamide (160 mg, 461 μmol) in MeOH (10 mL) was added NaOH (1000 μL, 5000 μmol). The mixture was heated to 60° C. for 5.5 h. The reaction mixture was neutralized with HCl (5 N, 1 mL), filtered and the solid was washed with H2O (3×2 mL) and air dried (140 mg). MS (ESI, POS. ION) M/Z: calc'd for C14H13ClN4S: 304.5. found: 305.0. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 2.83 (s, 6H) 7.42 (s, 1H) 7.53-7.77 (m, 4H) 8.10 (s, 1H) 8.29 (s, 1H).
