(E)-tert-butyl 2-(2-hydroxy-1,1-dimethyl-4-oxo-7-styryl-1,4-dihydronaphthalene-3-carboxamido)acetate (150 mg, 335 μmol, Example 108) was dissolved in EtOH (3352 μL). Palladium (10% on carbon, 35.7 mg, 335 μmol) was added, and the reaction mixture was placed under one atmosphere of hydrogen with a balloon for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered through a pad of Celite, washed with DCM, and concentrated to give the title compound.
