4-tert-Butyl-N-[4-chloro-2-(hydroxy-pyridin-4-yl-methyl)-phenyl]-benzenesulfonamide (1.1 g, 2.5 mmol) was dissolved in SOCl2 and heated at 80° C. overnight. Excess SOCl2 was removed by rotary evaporation. The residue suspended in 50 mL DCM was washed with saturated sodium bicarbonate solution (50 mL) and dried over MgSO4. Evaporation of solvent gave white crystalline solid. MS: (M+H)=450.
