Reaction Steps
Using similar procedures to those described in Example 1, 5,6-dihydro-11H-dibenzo[b,e]azepine (Tetrahedron, 1981, 37, 4159) was reacted with 4-methoxycarbonylbenzyl bromide to give 4-(5,6-dihydro-11H-dibenzo[b,e]azepin-5-ylmethyl)benzoic acid in 45% yield, m.p. 198° C.
