Procedure
A mixture containing 2,506.2 g. (10.08 moles) of di-n-butyltin oxide and 493.8 g. (5.04 moles) of maleic anhydride was stirred at high speed (3600 R.P.M.) for 2 minutes. The wall of the vessel was cooled to maintain the temperature of the material below 35° C. The resultant mixture was allowed to stand at 25° C. for 72 hours, at which time it was in the form of an agglomerate which could readily be crushed into a powder.
