Reaction Steps

To a solution of tert-butyl [[(4-{[3-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-propynyl]oxy}phenyl)sulfonyl](methyl)amino]acetate (0.331 g, 0.736 mmol in methanol/TH was added 1.23 mL (3.5 eq) of a 1.0N solution of LiOH and the reaction was stirred at room temp overnight. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was suspended in water, adjusted to pH to 3 with 2N HCl. The resulting solid was rinsed with ether and dried in vacuo to afford 0.27 g (89%) of [[(4-{[3-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-propynyl]oxy}phenyl)sulfonyl](methyl)amino]acetic acid. Electrospray Mass Spec 392.1 (M+H)+.
