1.78 g (4.8 mmol) of 1-(4-tert-butyloxycarbonylaminobutyl)-3-(2-nitrophenyl)thiourea (Example 23a) were dissolved in 120 ml of methanol and hydrogenated (1 bar) over 1 g of Pd/C at RT for 3 h. The catalyst was filtered off, the filtrate was concentrated and the residue was chromatographed through silica gel (EA:n-heptane 1:1). Yield: 1.4 g.
