A mixture of (1R*,2R*,5S*,6S*)-2-{[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]methoxy}-6-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-1-phenyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane (Example 22; 50 mg, 0,094 mmol), methanol (0.3 ml) and 1M HCl in diethyl ether was stirred at room temperature for 10 days and heated at reflux for 5 hours. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound as a white solid.
