Procedure
Batch crystallization was performed by admixing around 400 μL of each protein solution with an equal amount of crystallization solution in a 1.5 mL Eppendorff reaction tube. 400 μL of a particular crystallization solution was prepared by admixing acetate buffer, sodium dihydrogen phosphate stock solution, potassium dihydrogen phosphate stock solution and Milli Q water. In this example, the acetate buffer molarity was 0.1 M, and the acetate buffer pH was around 4.1. The following combination of sodium dihydrogen phosphate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate was used: around 0.9 M sodium dihydrogen phosphate and around 0.9 M potassium dihydrogen phosphate. The reaction tubes were stored at ambient temperature. Microscopy of 1 μL aliquots was performed after 11 days.
