Procedure

Ethyl 3-[({4-[(cyclohexyl{3-methyl-5-[2-(methylsulfanyl)ethoxy]-1-benzofuran-2-yl}methyl)amino]phenyl}carbonyl)(methyl)amino]propanoate (0.33 g) synthesized in the above-mentioned (3) was dissolved in ethanol (2 mL), 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (1.5 mL) was added to the solution at room temperature, and the mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 0.5 hr. Ethanol was evaporated under reduced pressure, 1N hydrochloric acid (1.5 mL) was added to the residue, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was washed with ethanol-water to give the title object compound (0.20 g, 63%) as a colorless solid.
