4-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-morpholin-4-yl-1,3-thiazole-5-carbonitrile (30 mg, 0.088 mmol) was dissolved in sulfuric acid (0.200 mL, 3.75 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at rt for 1 hour. Water (1 mL) was added and the mixture was quenched with an excess of saturated NaHCO3. Precipitate was filtered off, washed with water and dried to afford the title compound (27 mg, 80%). LCMS: (FA) ES+, 358. 1H NMR (400 MHz, d6-DMSO) δ: 7.67 (d, 1H), 7.47 (d, 1H), 7.43 (dd, 1H), 3.72-3.69 (m, 4H), 3.44-3.42 (m, 4H).
