Reaction Steps
A solution ethyl 1-methyl-5-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-2-carboxylate (1 eq) obtained from step I and NaOH (1.5 eq.) in ethanol was refluxed for 2 h Reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and neutralized to get 1-methyl-5-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-2-carboxylic acid.
