Reaction Steps
Methyl 4-(5-cyano-7-isopropyl-1,3-benzoxazol-2-yl)benzoate (118 mg, INTERMEDIATE 2, Step A) and lithium hydroxide (18 mg) were combined in 10 ml of a 1:1:1 mixture of tetrahydrofuran, methanol, and water. The solution was stirred at 50° C. for 5 h. The solvents were removed in vacuo to provide the title compound as an off-white solid (123 mg). Mass spectrum (ESI) 307.0 (M+1).
