A mixture of 8-(2,5-dimethyl-4-nitrophenyl)-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane (130.2 mg, 0.45 mmol) and 10% Pd—C (13.0 mg) in MeOH (20 mL) was degassed and then reacted under 1 atm. H2. Upon reaction completion, the Pd—C was removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to afford 2,5-dimethyl-4-(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decan-8-yl)aniline; ESMS m/z 262.2 (M+H+).
