4-Methoxybenzylamine (2.00 mL, 15.2 mmol) was added dropwise to a solution of 2-fluoro-N-hydroxy-3-iodo-4-methylbenzimidoyl chloride (WO2006094187, 1.46 g, 4.7 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (20 mL) and the mixture was stirred at ambient temperature overnight. Water was added and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to give a semi-solid. The solid was triturated with a hexanes/diethyl ether mixture and the solid was filtered and dried to give the title compound (1.66 g, 86%) as a white solid.
