3-(3-Oxo-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-pyrido[2,3-e][1,4]diazepin-7-yl)-acrylic acid tert-butyl ester (96 mg, 0.31 mmol) was dissolved into 1:1 CH2Cl2/TFA (2 mL) and stirred at room temperature for 30 min. The solvents were removed in vacuo to afford the title compound as a brown solid (44 mg, 61%) and as a mixture of amide rotomers. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6). 8.18 (t, J=5.7 Hz, 1H), 8.07 (d, J=2.1 Hz, 1H), 7.37 (d, J=15.8 Hz, 1H), 7.35 (t, J=5.3 Hz, 1H), 6.24 (d, J=15.8 Hz, 1H), 4.28 (d, J=5.7 Hz, 2H), 3:98 (d, J=5.1 Hz, 2H), 1.45 (s, 9H).
