Reaction Steps

To 32 mg (0.078 mmol) of 3G was added 4 mL of dichloromethane (distilled over CaH2) followed by 14 mg (0.12 mmol) of N-hydroxysuccinimide and 30 mg (0.152 mmol) of 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide. The reaction mixture was allowed to stir at room temperature under argon atmosphere 18 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with additional 25 mL of dichloromethane and washed with 2×20 mL of water, 2×20 mL of saturated sodium bicarbonate and 1×20 mL of water. The organic layer was dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated to give 36 mg (0.071 mmol) of 3H as a colorless gum.
