Procedure
A mixture of ethyl 4-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-ethylimidazole-2-carboxylate (25 mg, 0.06 mmol) from Step B in neat 1-aminopiperidine (2 mL) was heated at 90° C. for 72 hr. Most of the amine was evaporated under a stream of nitrogen and the residue was purified by Prep TLC (1 mm, silica) (25% ethyl acetate in hexanes to afford the title compound.
