7-Methyl-4H-benzo[1,4]oxazin-3-one (81MF2246a) (1.42 g, 8.7 mmol), Cs2CO3 (4.24 g, 13.0 mmol) and 3-chloro-1-iodopropane (1.95 g, 9.5 mmol) were mixed according to GP6. CC (SiO2; Heptane/EtOAc 10:1-5) gave the title compound (81MF2246b) (1.64 g, 79%). 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 6.98-6.81 (m, 3H), 4.59 (s, 2H), 4.06-4.03 (m, 2H), 3.63-3.60 (m, 2H), 2.26 (s, 2H), 2.20-2.15 (m, 2H); 13C NMR (CDCl3) δ 164.8, 145.8, 134.3, 123.9, 118.1, 114.9, 68.0, 42.8, 39.4, 30.5, 21.0
