Reaction Steps
To a solution of rac-3-[6-chloro-3-(3-chloro-benzyl)-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indol-3-yl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid (4-methanesulfinyl-phenyl)-amide (85 mg, 0.15 mmol) (from Example 81 supra) in dichloromethane (4 mL) was added 3-chloro-benzenecarboperoxoic acid (52.6 mg, 0.3 mmol) (Aldrich). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The mixture was partitioned between dichlormethane and water. The aqueous layer was extracted with dichlormethane. The combined organic layer was washed with 2% of sodium sulfite solution, saturated sodium bicarbonate, brine, dried over MgSO4 and concentrated. The residue was purified by chromatography to give rac-3-[6-chloro-3-(3-chloro-benzyl)-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indol-3-yl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid (4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)-amide as a pale yellow solid. (Yield 81 mg, 93%).
