Procedure
To a suspension of 90 mg of 2-(2-chloro-phenyl)-5-methyl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid piperidin-1-ylamide in 4 ml of acetonitrile was added 35 mg of potassium tert-butylate and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 minutes. After such time, 0.04 ml of (bromomethyl)cyclohexane was added and the reaction mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 28 hours under argon atmosphere. The reaction mixture was then concentrated in vacuo and purified by column chromatography (SiO2, Heptane/EtOAC:1/1) to give 64 mg of the title compound as a pale yellow solid, MS (ISP) 415.3 (M+H)+.
