The title compound (0.028 g) was prepared from 3-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4,5,7,8-tetrahydro-1H-1,2,6-triaza-azulene-6-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (Example 59, Step C, 0.1 g) using methyl iodide (0.21 mL) in place of benzyl chloride. The reaction sequence also yielded 3-(4-chloro-phenyl)-2-methyl-4,5,7,8-tetrahydro-2H-1,2,6-triaza-azulene-6-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester in the alkylation step. MS (ESI): exact mass calculated for C14H16ClN3, 261.10; found, m/z 262.1 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CD3OD): 7.69-7.65 (m, 4H), 4.07 (s, 3H), 3.69-3.67 (m, 2H), 3.58-3.56 (m, 2H), 3.44-3.42 (m, 2H), 3.05-3.04 (m, 2H).
