Procedure

A solution of the product of Example 2 (0.95 g) in ethanol (20 ml) was treated at 0° with sodium borohydride (0.76 g). The mixture was stirred for 30 min. and extracted with ethyl acetate. After evaporation of the solvent the residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel eluting with cyclohexane/ethyl acetate 1:1 to give the title compound (0.2 g) as a white solid. M.p. 163°-164°. T.l.c. (cyclohexane/ethyl acetate 1:1) Rf 0.23.
