The compound was prepared according to example 11 procedure using 5-hydroxy-2-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yloxymethyl)-4H-pyran-4-one (1.00 g, 4.42 mmol), Cs2CO3 (1.58 g, 4.86 mmol) and 1,7-dibromoheptane (2.5 mL, 14.6 mmol). The sealed tube was heated at 80° C. for 2 h 30. A white solid 5-(7-bromo-heptyloxy)-2-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yloxymethyl)-4H-pyran-4-one 4 was obtained (1.40 g, 78% yield).
