3-(3′-Methoxymethyl-biphenyl-4-yloxymethyl)-benzoic acid was prepared using the procedure described above for the preparation of Example 12 from 3-(4-iodo -phenoxymethyl)-benzoic acid methyl ester (of Intermediate 1) and 3-methoxymethylphenylboronic acid (available from Digital Specialty Chemicals, Inc., Dublin, N.H.).
