The 6-aminonaphthalen-2-ol from Step (a) above (320 mg, 2.0 mmol) reacted with phenylacetyl chloride (683 mg, 4.4 mmol, Aldrich) under the conditions of Example 1d to give the title compound as a white solid. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 278.3 (M+1). Mass Calc'd for C18H15NO2: 277.11.
