Reaction Steps

To a solution of (3R)-4,4,4-trifluoro-3-(2-{[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl]thio}-1,3-thiazol-5-yl)-3-hydroxybutanoic acid (see example 12, step 4b) (0.140 g, 0.27 mmol) in THF was added an ethereal solution of diazomethane until the evolution of gas was finished. The solvent was removed to yield 0.120 g of the crude title compound. 1H NMR (400 MHz, acetone-d6): δ 7.96 (s, 1H), 7.77 (m, 2H), 7.58 (m, 2H), 7.48 (d, 1H), 7.39 (t, 2H), 6.53, (s, 1H), 6.42 (s, 1H), 3.63 (s, 3H), 3.40 (d, 1H), 3.25 (d, 1H).
