A solution of (2R)-4-(3-chloro-5-(((2-(trimethylsilyl)ethoxy)methoxy)methyl)pyridin-2-yl)-1-(4-(3,4-difluorophenyl)-5-(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-methylpiperazine from step (b) above (160 mg, 0.23 mmol) in TFA (3 mL) was stirred at RT for 1.5 h. The solvent was removed and the residue was added solution of MeOH:DCM (1:1, 3 mL). The mixture was cooled to 0° C. and potassium carbonate (200 mg) was added. The mixture was then stirred at RT for 2.5 h and the solvents were removed. The residue was purified on silica gel using ISCO Combiflash® system with EtOAc/Hexanes (1:1) as the eluant to give the title compound as a light yellow solid. MS (ESI, positive ion) m/z: 564 (M+1).
