To a heterogeneous mixture of 4-(2-fluoro-4-nitrophenoxy)-5-isopropyl-3,4-dihydropyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazine (0.044 g, 1.39 mmol, 10 equiv) in 1/1 anhydrous methanol/tetrahydrofuran (2 mL), at ambient temperature under nitrogen atmosphere, was added zinc dust (0.090 g, 0.139 mmol, 1.0 equiv) and ammonium chloride (0.075 g, 1.39 mmol, 10 equiv). The mixture was stirred for 4 h before the catalyst was filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to yield the title compound (0.040 g, 100%) as a solid, that was used without further purification. HRMS(ESI), 287.1308 (M+H)+ calc, 287.1300 (M+H)+ found.
