Procedure
3.15 ml of 1 N sodium hydroxide are added to 1 g (2.52 mmol) of ethyl 2-{2-methoxy-4-[(1-methoxy-2-methylindolizin-3-yl)carbonyl]anilino}acetate, a compound obtained in Example 195, in solution in 10 ml of ethanol, and the medium is stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction medium is concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is taken up in water, washed with ethyl ether and separated after settling out. The aqueous phase is neutralized with 1 N hydrochloric acid. The precipitate formed is filtered off, washed with water, dried and then taken up in ethyl ether, filtered and dried. A yellow powder is obtained.
