Reaction Steps

The title compound of Step B was prepared following the method described in Step A of Example 1 from 3-{3-[(4-isobutyl-benzylamino)-methyl]-phenyl}-propionic acid methyl ester of Step A and benzenesulfonyl chloride using triethylamine in place of N,N-diisopropylethylamine. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.83 (dd, 2H), 7.57 (m, 1H), 7.52 (m, 2H), 7.11 (m, 1H), 7.03-6.86 (m, 6H), 6.79 (s, 1H), 4.29 (s, 2H), 4.28 (s, 2H), 3.67 (s, 3H), 2.80 (t, 2H), 2.50 (t, 2H), 2.40 (d, 2H), 1.80 (m, 1H), 0.86 (m, 6H); MS 480 (M+1).
