Procedure
Dimethylsulphamoyl chloride (0.12 ml, 1.08 mmol) was added to a solution of the amine from example 4 (140 mg, 0.36 mmol) and pyridine (90 μl, 1.08 mmol) in dichloromethane (8 ml), and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. TLC analysis showed that starting material remained, so additional dimethylsulphamoyl chloride (0.08 ml, 0.72 mmol) was added and the mixture was stirred for a further 24 hours. The mixture was washed with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution, dried over magnesium sulphate, and evaporated under reduced pressure. The crude product was purified by column chromatography on silica gel using dichloromethane:methanol:0.88 ammonia (95:5:0.5) as eluant, to afford the title compound as a pale yellow gum (120 mg).
