A stirred solution of (1R)-2-[(6-{4-[3-(cyclopentylsulfinyl)phenyl]butoxy}hexyl)amino]-1-(2,2-dimethyl-4H-1,3-benzodioxin-6-yl)ethanol (0.1 g) in glacial acetic acid (5 ml) and water (0.2 ml) was heated at 82° C. for 40 min. The solution was evaporated to dryness to give the title compound as a clear oil (0.075 g). LCMS=2.61 min, ES+ve 532 (MH+).
