Reaction Steps
Methyl isobutyl ketone, 1.0 g (0.004 mole) of 4-(diphenylmethylene)piperidine, 0.96 g (0.004 mole) of 1-(1-bromo-2-ethyl)-2-benzimidazolone, 0.53 g (0.008 mole) of Na2CO3 and a few crystals of NaI are heated for 9 h at the reflux temperature.
