Reaction Steps
To 2.67 g of magnesium (shavings) in 5 ml of THF under inert atmosphere and at ambient temperature, is added in 50 minutes at the reflux after priming to 1.2-dibromoethane, a solution of 32.9 g of (1.1-dimethylethyl) dimethyl [[3-(4-bromophenyl)propyl]oxy]silane (stage C) in 100 ml of THF and maintained 5 hours at reflux.
