To a solution of compound 88 (0.30 g, 0.625 mmoles) and tetrakis(triphenyl phosphine), palladium(0) (50 mg) in toluene (degassed, 5 mL) was added 3-fluorophenyl boronic acid (0.182 g, 1.3 mmoles) in ethanol (degassed, 5 mL) followed by 0.75 mL 2M Na2CO3 (aq) (1.5 mmoles). The reaction was allowed to proceed at 80° C. for 3 hrs under argon. The reaction was diluted with water and diethyl ether and vortexed. The organic phase was isolated and evaporated to give a crude product. The crude product was purified by silica gel chromatography (0-50% EtOAc in hexanes) to give the product (compound 92) as a white powder (0.166 g, 58% yield).
