Reaction Steps

The product of Example 388B (0.20 g, 0.29 mmoles) was dissolved in 10 mL dichloromethane and 3 mL trifluoroacetic acid followed by the addition of 1.5 mL of triethylsilane and the reaction stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The solvents were evaporated and ether added followed by the addition of 6 N HCl in ether to precipitate the desired compound (0.096 g, 74%) which was collected by rapid filtration. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) 0.37 (m, 3H), 0.65 (m, 3H), 1.08 (m, 2H), 1.25 (m, 1H), 3.89 (m, 1H), 4.37 (d, 2H), 6.53 (s, 1H), 6.79 (m, 1H), 7.01 (m, 1H), 7.42-7.62 (m, 8H), 7.86-7.94 (m, 2H), 8.86 (s, 1H).
