Reaction Steps
Tert-butoxycarbonyl-L-leucine monohydrate (12.5 g) and 1-(2-pyrimidinyl)piperazine (8.21 g) were condensed in the same manner as employed in the preparation of tert-butyl (s)-3-methyl-1-[4-(2-pyridyl)piperazine-1-yl-carbonyl]butylcarbamate to yield 13.4 g of tert-butyl (s)-3-methyl-1-[4-(2-pyrimidinyl)piperazine-1-yl carbonyl]butylcarbamate (yield: 71%).
