To a solution of 2-({4-[(19-tert-butoxycarbonylnonadecanoylamino)methyl]cyclohexanecarbonyl}-amino)pentanedioic acid 1-tert-butyl ester 5-(2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl)ester (5.0 g) in THF (100 ml) was added a solution of H-Glu-OtBu (1.36 g) in water (25 ml). After stirring over night the mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was precipitated from water and filtered off and dried in vacuo to give the title compound (4.63 g, 84%).
